Are you a HR expert with a passion for improvement? SPIE, an international not-for-profit organization, seeks a Director of Human Resources to guide policy, processes, and execution of the full range of HR functions to serve a staff that supports SPIE activities. You will play a pivotal role serving our organization to advance light-based technologies worldwide.
Full-time, 40 hours per week position available, with flexible work hours.
Job Summary
Lead Develop and execute the full breadth of HR functions including policy, processes, management, and staff support. You will lead your HR staff to execute with excellence.
Vision: Implements and administers all HR activities including, but not limited to recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, employee development and training, policy development, compensation, payroll. records management and other areas.
Strategic development: Partners with C-suite, Directors, and Board Committees on various activities. Develop short and long-term plans and targets that align with overall SPIE business goals and strategies.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
Minimum of 10 years experience covering the full range of human resources activities with five in a leadership capacity.
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience required.
Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience preferred.
SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification required.
Compensation and Exceptional Benefits:
Competitive Salary: Pay range $141,800 to $198,500.
Health and Wellness: Medical, dental & vision benefits provided (100% employer paid premium for the employee, 75% employer paid premium for the dependents).
Retirement: Defined retirement contribution: SPIE provides an AUTOMATIC 5% contribution AND up to 5% matching contributions with 25% vesting each year and 100% vested after 4 years.

Location:
Physical work location in Bellingham, WA. Occasional remote work may be available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. SPIE will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
