About Wildcrust:Wildcrust is a full-service restaurant that combines traditional Neapolitan techniques, fine-dining flavors, and a 48-hour fermented dough for uniquely elevated, wood-fired sourdough pizza. In addition to pizzas and other plates, our menu highlights high quality vegetables and proteins prepared on our wood-fired grill.Wildcrust, in Highland Park / Eagle Rock is the first brick and mortar restaurant opened by Wild Group LLC, a unique collective of culinary and business professionals. Our mission is to provide exceptional food and service to our customers, while caring for our people and bettering our community. On grill station, you would be training and working under our Head Chef, Miles Okabayashi, who is a Graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) and has extensive experience working at top fine-dining or Michelin restaurants in both New York and Los Angeles (Perry Street, The Fulton, Torishin, Uncle Boons, and Republique). Position Overview:We are looking for skilled and dedicated cooks to work our grill station.Current dishes covered by grill include meatballs, duck, pork, and two farmer's market / seasonal vegetables. Essential Job Responsibilities: Prepare food on a wood-fired grill that meets Wildcrust'squality, quantity, freshness, and presentationstandards Ensure all products and prepared items are properly labeled, dated, and rotated following FIFO (first in, first out) Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, adhere to safe work and equipment practices, and follow all food safety, health, and sanitation standards Follow company policies, procedures, guidelines, and recipies Properly set up workstation withmise en place andnecessary tools Adeptly use a variety of cooking techiniques and apparatus, including wood-fire oven and grill Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by Chefs Desired Qualifications: 2+ years experience working in a fast paced kitchen environment Strong Knife skills, plating techniques, and attention to detail Ability to multitask and complete a prep list in an organized and efficient manner Knowledge and/or experience with wood fired cooking is a plus, but not required Ability to work wellin a team Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends Culinary Degree or equivalent experience a plus, but not required Compensation: Hourly ($21 - $27) plus tips Benefits: Health insurance, family meal, dining discounts
