12/4 Production Worker 2nd Shift $18.50 per hour
SUMMARY
The Production Worker is responsible for all activities associated with helping on various machines and
areas within the plant including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.
JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE
Helps / assists on various machine and areas within the plant
Cross-trains on other machines.
Switches duties with Assistant when necessary.
Reports all equipment deficiencies or malfunctions requiring maintenance or repair to the proper
Supervisor.
Adheres to production schedule and communicates any unusual scheduling issues to supervisor.
Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals.
Monitors orders throughout the production run.
Pulls samples as needed.
Follows first article processes as posted near machine.
Prints WIP(Work in Progress) and FG (Finished goods) load tags.
Ensures the compliance of safety guidelines.
Wears the proper safety equipment for the environment including safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
Keeps work areas neat and orderly, maintaining halls and floors free of slip and trip hazards, and
removing of waste materials.
Maintains machine on a regular basis, dusting the top of the machine weekly.
Will stack or feed on machines from time to time or as needed
Performs other related duties as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
High School diploma/GED required
At least 2 years experience with Esko (Packaging and Display Industry experience is ideal).
Ability to understand software maintenance while continuously improving processes.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally.
Strong organizational & communication skills: Writing, Speaking
Ability to recommend and implement customer solutions to drive top and bottom-line improvement.
Ability to handle multiple projects within a fast pace work environment.
Interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
1. Read tape measure with speed and accuracy
2. Calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate
3. Apply concepts of high school math
4. Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
5. Product layouts and production specifications.
6. Meet Quality Standard
