Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - COTA
Responsible for providing a wide range of occupational therapy services to participants from children to older adults with developmental and acquired disabilities in an aquatic setting. This includes preforming assessments, treatments, program planning and implementation, patient and family/staff education, and completes related documentation and communication. The incumbent will ensure that the needs of each participant are met with dignity and respect while maintaining a safe environment. Incumbent should model the organizational values of MOTION, FUN, CONVENIENCE, SAFETY, TEAMWORK and RESPECT. This is a full-time position that includes late afternoon, evening and possible weekend hours. Will work with members of the multi-disciplinary team to develop programs, conduct seminars, mentor students and assure the outcome of each participant’s goals.
Know How: Incumbent must have graduated from an accredited program of Occupational Therapy Assistant; must possess a valid license in the state of Missouri. COTA needs to be able to swim 300 yards and comfortable working in an aquatic environment, with individuals with disabilities. Certification in CPR and First Aid required. Possess the ability to transfer, maneuver, and lift individuals; must be able to lift 50 pounds. Incumbent must have strong communication and organizational skills. The incumbent must have a high standard of personal reliability and teamwork. Having fun is a priority.
