The Opportunity:
We are seeking a hands-on and results-oriented Operations Manager to lead our team and ensure the efficient flow of food resources. They formulate and maintain clear and scalable logistics and strategies to improve performance. This pivotal role requires a strong leader who can optimize processes, maintain strict inventory control, and inspire a team dedicated to our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management: Provide both hands-on leadership and strategic oversight of all operational facets within the warehouse.
Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve workflows, layouts, and procedures to maximize efficiency, productivity, and safety. Coordinate transportation and delivery logistics to ensure timely and accurate distribution of goods.
Inventory Control: Implement and maintain inventory management systems, ensuring accurate tracking, timely stock rotation, and minimizing waste.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate a high-performing team. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Equipment Expertise: Oversee the safe and efficient operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment. Ensure proper maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
Safety: Enforce adherence to OSHA regulations and food safety standards, conducting regular safety training and inspections.
Data-Driven Decision Making; Fiscal Responsibility: Analyze key performance indicators, identify areas for improvement, implement cost-effective solutions to enhance operations, and demonstrate sound fiscal management to contribute to the organization's financial health and sustainability.
Qualifications:
Proven Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in a warehouse or similar environment, preferably in a high-volume or food distribution environment.
Leadership Acumen: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, set clear expectations, and provide constructive feedback.
Process Improvement Mindset: A passion for optimizing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing innovative solutions.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Safety Focus: Knowledge of OSHA regulations and Food Safety and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
Physical Requirements: Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures.
Certifications & Background: Forklift and pallet jack experience and clean driving record. Must be able to pass a background check.
