Position Overview Title: Facility ManagerPosition Type: Regular Full-time 40hr/wk. Salary: $52,811.2 – 62,108.8 This position is eligible for a 5% bilingual differential if the successful candidate meets the Food Share standard on an oral proficiency exam. Anticipated start date: January 6, 2025Summary of Role: The Facility Manager effectively manages multiple Food Share facilities and grounds in accordance with organizational policy and procedure. Your responsibilities as the Facility Manager will include:Areas of Responsibility, Evaluation, and Essential Functions:Facilities – Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization (MRO) of Food Share-owned physical buildings, mechanical systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds - ensuring safe and operable condition.Manages service contracts and vendor relationships under the facilities team's scope in accordance with Food Share values, performance expectations, and budgetary requirements. Continually assesses the condition of and adequately maintains the electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other essential facilities and equipment. Performs capital asset planning, budgeting, and replacement in collaboration with the Director of Operations.Provides guidance and training for staff assisting with daily facility maintenance, janitorial cleaning, and facility repairs.Partner with the senior manager of warehouse operations to develop and maintain an effective system for cleaning, repairing, and maintaining facilities and equipment.Tracks, organizes, and provides timely follow-up for regularly maintaining the Food Share facilities, equipment, and fleet vehicles.Participates with Leadership in long-term facility planning and manages capital improvement projects, planning and coordinating construction activities to minimize impact on operations and achieve project goals.Supports facility needs at multiple Food Share locations, including AWARE Food Bank in Woodburn, Iskam Mek Mek Haws in Grand Ronde, and the Youth Farm in Northeast Salem. Assist with building maintenance, vendor relationships and project scheduling at these locations. Frequent travel to offsite locations required.Safety & Security – Ensure facility inspections, certificates, and licenses are current and are properly filed or posted.Participates actively in the Food Share Safety Committee and works with other employees to ensure a safe work environment through training, education, and drills.Monitors and responds to security concerns and trains new and existing staff on using the security system. Maintains records of staff security codes, building keys, and FOB system assignments.Supports the Director of Finance, Director of People and Culture, and Director of Operations in analyzing and mitigating risk related to the work environment. Ensure accidents are properly reported and tracked. Adjust practices to learn from accidents.Supports the Warehouse Manager in monitoring food safety across the organization. Ensures food is stored and handled correctly and in accordance with Feeding America, USDA, and all applicable laws and regulations.About Marion Polk Food Share We are the regional food bank bringing people together to end hunger and its root causes in Marion and Polk Counties. All candidates will need:3-5 years of experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs, as well as experience in maintaining warehouse equipment and fleet. Building management and other professional association certifications.Prior experience or certifications in safety training and in maintaining a safe work environment, such as OSHA General Industry and/or Industrial Ergonomics certifications.Experience regularly working with software such as HRIS, ticketing systems, Microsoft Office Suite, or inventory systems.Prior experience negotiating contracts for projects and services, demonstrated project management or construction project management certification. Technical background via education or on-the-job experience in building systems.Experience/ability to develop training programs and train team members on core job responsibilities. Experience in the non-profit sector. Must pass pre-employment drug screen (excluding THC) and full background check, including eligibility to work with vulnerable populations. Job Conditions: Work may be performed standing, kneeling, bending, or sitting for prolonged periods of time. Work may be performed at a workstation, outside, or in a warehouse environment. May work or travel out of the local area and work outside normal working hours, such as evenings and weekends, on occasion.
