Personal Care Assistant
Start Date: January 6
The apartment complex is a non-smoking facility
Job Location: West Champaign, near the intersection of Windsor and Mattis
Description: We are males in our 30s with a physical disability who need assistance with activities of daily living, including getting out of bed, showering, dressing, meal assistance, bathroom assistance, getting into bed, and routine cleaning/laundry activities.
My roommates and I are looking for a personal care assistant. We are looking for someone who can work as a backup PCA or a full-time PCA during the week, depending on our schedule of personal care assistants. We need weekend PCAs. We will meet with you to discuss your specific availability. Thank you for your patience and flexibility while we iron out our PCA schedule.
Requirements - Be punctual, reliable, safety conscious, and communicative. I need people to commit to a schedule, but please let me know in advance if you need time off. Reliability is very important. You must have dependable transportation.
Previous experience with healthcare or assisting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. If you enjoy working with people and have a friendly, helpful attitude, that’s always a plus.
Pay Details - You will be paid by the Illinois Department of Human Services (Home Services Program) and fill out paperwork before starting work. DHS is a state agency, so you must provide them copies of your Driver's License or State ID and your Social Security Card. The pay rate for DHS PAs is currently $17.75 per hour, with increases in the near future.
Please email a statement of interest and a description of related experience. You must also provide contact information for at least one professional reference. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or need more info. Thank you!
