Sr. Accountant
Description Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong a Senior Merchandise Accountant to support our client on a 4-6 month hybrid (primarily remote) engagement beginning immediately. The Sr. Accountant will help with various critical operations including, period-end close, reporting and analysis, audit support, forecasting of fixed expenses and assist with event settlements, recording and analysis. The ideal Sr. Accountant will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strong accounting background, strong communication skills and be very well organized.Responsibilities Assist in the timely completion of the monthly close responsibilities for Inventory and COGS Work in conjunction with the Merchandise and Events teams to make sure all COGS and Inventory is accounted for correctly for each project Create settlements and track all costs at a detailed level with 3rd party merchandise partners Investigate and reconciliation of companies ERP with 3rd party merchandise partners Perform month-end close tasks as defined by management including preparation of journal entries in accordance with GAAP and SOX requirements Assist with special projects as assigned, including new initiatives implementationRequirements Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably as a Senior Accountant. Understanding of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and its impact on profitability is crucial. Proficient in Account Reconciliation, with the ability to detect and rectify discrepancies. Solid experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is essential for maintaining accurate financial records. Must have hands-on experience with Bank Reconciliations, ensuring all financial transactions align with bank statements. Familiarity with the General Ledger is required, including posting, managing, and reconciling entries. Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries accurately. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must for managing and analyzing financial data. Experience with Month End Close procedures, enabling timely and accurate financial reporting. Knowledge of Oracle or similar financial software is necessary for efficient and effective accounting operations. Experience in Inventory Accounting, including tracking and valuation of inventory, is required.
