Facilities Crew Member

Anaina Hou Community Park (AHCP) is a vibrant non-profit organization nestled in the heart of Kilauea on Kauai's north shore. Founded in 2010, AHCP was created to offer the local community a dynamic space dedicated to education and recreation. Welcoming over 50,000 families annually, our park boasts a range of attractions including Kauai Miniature Golf, Lanai, The Porter Pavilion, a beautifully designed playground, a Kauai Bus park and ride, and a weekly farmers' market. Position Title: Facilities Crew Member

Position Summary: Anaina Hou Community Park is seeking a part-time Facilities Crew Member to join our Landscaping and Facilities team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a Hawaiian Botanical Garden, maintaining diverse plant species and overseeing the upkeep of our 15-acre campus, including the Mini Golf and Gardens.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Gardens and Grounds Maintenance:

-Perform mowing, edging, weeding, manicuring, and trimming of lawns and landscape features.

-Maintain the miniature golf course, ponds, and surrounding gardens.

2) Park Maintenance and Repairs:

-Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly campus maintenance.

-Perform minor building repairs or coordinate repairs with the Operations Director.

-Maintain organized maintenance storage areas.

-Assist with special projects as assigned to support campus operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

-Proficiency in using mechanized mowers, edgers, trimmers, and chain saws.

-Strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

-Excellent time-management skills with high attention to detail.

-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute to a team effort.

-Dependable, with integrity and respect for the work environment.

Physical Demands:

-Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.

-Must be able to navigate the campus effectively during events and daily operations.

Miscellaneous:

-Flexibility in work schedule is required, including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational needs may require.

-All staff must successfully complete a background check to be eligible for employment.

-Must have the ability to commute to Kilauea, HI 96754, with reliable transportation (required).

Job Type: Part-time

Work Location: Onsite, Kilauea 96754

Expected hours: 20 per week, with flexibility to accommodate operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Shift:

-8 hour shift

-Day shift

-Weekdays & Weekends

Compensation: $22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
