For this hiring, we want a person that will support the SRTS Coordinator with a Bike Fleet used to teach bicycle safety at schools in the Salem-Keizer School District. They must have the ability to lift, bend, and load up to 50 lbs. as this position helps to load and unload 50+ bicycles in a day as well as be able to bend over and organize helmets for students. Some basic knowledge about bike parts and mechanics is helpful. The position is temporary, January 6, 2025-May 16, 2025.

The position of Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program Assistant is to support the SRTS Coordinator and SRTS program. SRTS programs teach and encourage students to safely walk, bike, and roll to school and within their communities. The Program Assistant helps educate students, families, and communities about Safe Routes to School by maintaining social media and participating in outreach events (information booths, bike rodeos, walking school bus events, etc). They demonstrate friendly interaction with children, Salem-Keizer Public Schools students, teachers, staff, and the public

Minimum Education and Experience: Any satisfactory combination of education and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties. Must have valid driver's license (required), and pass background/fingerprint check up with Salem-Keizer Public Schools.
