Responsibilities include:
Performs programs on all identified residents. To include but not limited to:
Range of motion (passive/active)
General strengthening exercises
Ambulation and transfer training
ADL’s
Nursing whirlpools as assigned
Placement of restorative devices and equipment
Positioning
Restorative feeding program
Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.
Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy department of problems, referrals or reassessments needed.
Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant change in resident’s condition or motivational level.
Reinforces team management of B/B program and works with nurse aides on B/B procedures.
Attends meetings and in-services as required.
Serves as a resident advocate at all times. Motivates others.
Qualifications
Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
Good communication skills with the ability to read and write the English language.
Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.
