Commercial Loan Associate
Position SummaryPOSITION SUMMARY:The Commercial Loan Associate creates, collects, analyzes, exercises judgment and advises members on commercial loan options. This position is responsible for maintaining organization of commercial lending portfolio and coordinates meeting all business and regulatory deadlines. This position is also responsible for assisting and serving as backup to the Commercial Loan Officer in all aspects of the commercial loan origination process.GREENSTATE CULTURE:Pay range for this hourly position is $38.06 - $50.96/hr with a progressive benefits package. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change:
Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in carrying out GreenState's mission and vision.
Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with co-workers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
Provides the highest level of internal and external customer service, demonstrating a positive member service focus at all times.
Ensures confidentiality of member information.
Plays a vital role in participating in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events, on an annual basis.
Adheres to all state, federal and credit union regulations, policies and guidelines.
Works under the direct supervision of the Vice President/Commercial Operations to assist members and staff in the support of the Commercial Services department.
Answers phones and assists with inquiries about commercial loans when Commercial Officer is unavailable. Conducts closings as needed.
Gathers all required applicant information and financial documents to determine the credit worthiness for new borrowers.
Fields and returns phone calls and emails for Commercial Officers.
Works with Credit Analysts and Commercial Officers to request interim and year-end financial information from members. Obtains and analyzes current financial information on existing loans for the purpose of conducting periodic reviews to determine the ongoing credit worthiness of the borrower.
Tracks and maintains maturing loans report with respective loan officer and Credit Analyst. Assists in obtaining proper documentation when extensions or renewals are requested.
Tracks and maintains delinquency report with Executive VP Commercial and respective loan officer.
Tracks and maintains NSF activity on member accounts.
Corresponds with borrowers, realtors, attorneys, abstractors, insurance companies, etc.
Schedules the closing appointment with all necessary parties.
Organizes loan files with all necessary documentation and submits file to Commercial Loan Assistant for processing.
Organizes loan files after closing to be sent to Commercial Loan Assistant and ensures that documents are signed and completed correctly.
Assures proper loan documentation is prepared and executed as required by the type of transaction.
Prepares correspondence.
Processes line of credit advance requests.
Processes loan payments, deposit requests, account transfer requests.
Provides account and product information.
Creates and maintain credit files.
Maintains the file documentation database and tracks exceptions reporting.
Works to correct technical exceptions as quickly as possible.
Serves as back-up to Commercial Loan Assistants in preparing all loan closings as needed.
Corresponds with borrowers, realtors, attorneys, abstractors, insurance companies, etc.
Monitors and adjusts variable rate loan rates, payments, etc., as needed.
Tracks and monitors all HMDA reportable data and assists in quarterly and annual filing of reports to CFPB.
Job Requirements/Expectations
Bachelor’s degree required
One to three years in a similar or related experience preferred.
Must be bondable.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize assignments and organize work efficiently for timely completion. Strong time management skills required to manage multiple assignments on time.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
Interpersonal skills to represent the credit union in a positive way during member contact.
Excellent figure aptitude, with accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge of procedures, forms and regulations as they relate to commercial lending and deposit gathering.
Ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with members and co-workers on a professional basis.
Proficiency in a wide variety of personal computer software programs, including the Microsoft Office application suite.
Availability and willingness to work additional hours as dictated by the workload.
A strong working knowledge of local area network directories, protocol and general maintenance procedures.
Strong analytical skills with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Self directed nature, ability to work independent of supervision, and ability to follow directions.
Maturity and discretion to handle confidential information.
