BANQUET HOUSEMAN/ATTENDANT POSITION SUMMARY:
The Banquet Houseman/Attendant is responsible for setting up Events according to BEO (Banquet Event Order) specifications. Individual to provide excellent customer service and work closely with guest, vendors, and the F&B team and all other department of the Kiva Club. The Banquet Houseman/Attendant will implement the skills and language programs as provided by the BlueStar Resort & Golf Group.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure the function room is set according to the guest expectation and BlueStar Resort & Golf standards. This position will set up, breakdown, and clean all space associated with banquets, weddings and events.

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must be able to stand and walk for a extend period of time or for an entire shift
Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50lbs without assistance.
Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
Set up, Stock and Maintain Clubhouse rooms
Complete final breakdown of Banquet rooms
Set up & tear down wedding ceremony chairs
Clean and return equipment to proper location
Must be highly customer oriented and responsive with a high need for closure.
Demonstrated initiative ability to think, work, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment
Ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments to meet deadlines
Must be willing to "roll-up" sleeves and dig in with staff to drive processes that support the business
Excellent verbal communication skills
Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment where continuous improvement is expected
Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must.
Set rooms, buffets, and tables according to BEO specifications and Supervisor instructions.
Handle all guest requests; as necessary, request the assistance of the Banquet Manager or Banquet Manager.
Ensure that all storerooms are clean, organized and secured.
Organize Banquet hall to ensure a productive, safe and energy conserving work environment.
Ensure that all unused rooms are set to department's standards.
Constantly communicate all concerns to Banquet Manager or Banquet Captain.
Assist in equipment inventory as scheduled.
Ensure proper maintenance (cleaning and repair) of all equipment.
Pick up food from kitchen and return dirty dishes and carts to dish area.
Ensure hot boxes are properly operating and assist in expediting the food if needed.
Assist the servers during service by responding to their requests; notify Banquet Manager or
Banquet Captain/Lead immediately of any difficulties.
Advise Dept. Heads, Banquet Manager or Maintenance Manager regarding equipment needs, rentals, supply needs and employee staff issues.
Attend staff set-up and technical training on a regular basis.
Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees in all departments.
Perform all guest contact activities with a cordial, efficient and professional manner while
maintaining a commitment to excellence.
Adhere to all department and company policies and procedures.
Enforce all safety and sanitation procedures including safety guidelines and OSHA requirements.
Maintain adequate level of security to safeguard Club equipment inventory.
Perform any reasonable request assigned by management for the Club's staffing and
performance needs.
Attend all department, full staff, safety and other meetings and trainings as required by management.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
A Banquet Houseman/Attendant must have a High School diploma, GED or one to three months of related experience.
Banquet Houseman/Attendant must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memorandums. They must have the ability to effectively present information both in one on one, and small group situations with guests and fellow team members.
