Payrate: $32.5/hr

Work Time: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)

Requirements:

Completion of a Medical Assistant program accredited by ASSCS, ACCET, CAAHEP, or ABHES, or national certification issued by CMA, NCCT, or AMT.

-Medical Assistant Diploma/ Certificate from a secondary, post-secondary or adult education program

CPR Certification: BLS (AHA or American Red Cross)

Venipuncture Certification

DEXA- Certification

Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant with DEXA Experience.

-Recent experience of 6 months in a Clinic/Ambulatory setting or 12 months of collective experience over the past 3 years.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of appropriate indications for DEXA scans

Knowledge of appropriate contraindications, risks, and risk assessment of testing

-Experience with Epic EMR, blood draws, specimen handling and processing, and EKG knowledge.

-Proficiency in manual and electronic blood pressure monitoring.

-Knowledge of electronic health records.

MA Dexa Tech - Duties include but are not limited to: Clean and stock exam rooms as needed, routinely check for expired products and supplies, set up exam rooms for procedures, prepare instruments for sterilization by cleaning as directed by manufacture, administer medications and injections as ordered by physician following the proper Rights of Administration and record medications in patients’ medical record, perform 12 lead EKGs as ordered, In basket messaging, prior authorizations, complete lab draws and processing, room and vital patients

Duties:

1. Rooming patients, accurately taking and recording vital signs in patient's medical records.

2. Verify and/or administer medications (as directed) and record medications in the patient's medical record.

3. Perform 12 lead EKGs routinely and also in emergencies

4. Perform venipuncture and perform waived tests depending on laboratory equipment in the clinic as well as prepare specimens and requisitions for transport to the main laboratory.

5. Recognize abnormal lab values and report to the physician.

6. Recognize and report all equipment malfunctions to the Clinic Manager.

7. Perform vision and hearing tests as required.

8. Follow up and respond to Care Connect In basket messages and messages coming in from patients

9. Maintain patient exam rooms: Stock/set up rooms and prepare instruments for sterilization

10. Perform DEXA (bone densitometry) scans for patients and prepare reports.
