Looking for Design / Art Fellow in Downtown Chicago
Position Type: Part-Time, In-Person (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4-6 hours per day)

We are a small but dynamic marketing agency that thrives on creativity and innovation, and focuses on making marketing human. Our projects blend traditional and modern mediums (including film, web and data science), focusing on high-design campaigns that leave a lasting impact.
We're looking for a talented and meticulous Design/Art Intern to join our team and contribute to exciting projects, including a one-of-a-kind direct mail marketing initiative and several art projects for our website (www.departmentofgrowth.com), including a large multi-media collage.
What You’ll Do:
-Collaborate on a distinctive direct mail marketing project requiring attention to detail and art created on a vintage typewriter used by an intelligence officer in World War II.
-Spearhead multimedia and mixed-media projects, leveraging tools and techniques in innovative ways.
-Imagine creating large-scale wall art that will be photographed and animated on a website - that kind of thing.
-Explore interests in Chicago photography to enhance our visual storytelling.
-Contribute to social media content creation and strategy. Write basic copy to support projects.
-Support future projects, setting up a makerspace and framing projects
What We’re Looking For:
Education: Current student in art or design programs at schools like the Art Institute or Columbia College Chicago.
Skills & Interests:
-Strong organizational and meticulous attention to detail.
-Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Adobe Suite, Canva, CAD design, etc.) and multimedia platforms.
-A passion for mixed-media art and an interest in Chicago’s photographic landscape.
-Mixed-media composition experience in disciplines such as sculpture, collage, knitting, woodworking, framing, papermaking, etc
-Tool user
-Experience or interest in social media, content creation and strategy.
Work Ethic: Dependable, proactive, and enthusiastic about hands-on creative projects.
10-15 hours per week, mostly on-site at the Department located near Navy Pier, at regular time slots each week
