Summary StatementPerforms grounds and facility maintenance at one of the city's two public golf courses, Warm Spring Golf Course or Quail Hollow Golf Course.This position is open to all interested persons age 18 and older.This position works up to 40 hours a week, typically for 8 months from March through October.Essential FunctionsMaintains golf course greens and facilities. (40%)Operates irrigation equipment, sets up and mow greens, collects golf balls from driving range and sets-up golf course for daily play. (30%)Collects trash on facility grounds as needed, cleans golf carts, and supplies and cleans restrooms as necessary. (30%)Total Percentage = 100%Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.RequirementsRequired Knowledge, Experience, And TrainingAbility to safely operate lawn mowers and lawn care equipment; willingly perform routine manual labor; understand and follow oral and written instructions; perform physical labor, emptying trash containers weighing up to 50 pounds; work without constant supervision; work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; cordially provide information and directions to golf course patrons and the general public; interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of city employees, the general public and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.Licensing And Other Requirementsstate issued driver's licenseSpecial RequirementsApplicants must be able to pass:City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process RegulationDriving Record CheckWorking ConditionsThe physical effort characteristics and working environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Also, the employee is frequently pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds. The noise level is frequently loud. Work includes sensory ability to talk and hear. Work in this position also includes distance vision and peripheral vision. Employees will stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.Additional physical efforts include: pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds. Working EnvironmentThe work environment will include outdoor weather conditions and in wet and humid conditions. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position.
