Description We are searching for an experienced Senior Accountant with a an experienced accounting background in our Sioux City, Iowa location. As the Senior Accountant for this location, you will be responsible for overseeing our financial reporting and technical accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory management. You will also play a key role in coordinating the monthly closing process, preparing financial statements, and ensuring complete and validated balance sheet reconciliations. This is a full-time, permanent salaried position that offers full comprehensive benefits/retirement/time off plans. Main Responsibilities: Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable Manage inventory accounting and ensure accurate records Coordinate the monthly closing process and complete necessary tasks Prepare comprehensive financial statements on a monthly basis Perform balance sheet reconciliations and validate their completeness Assist with forecast preparations and financial analysis Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed Maintain the integrity of the Sage system and provide system administrative support Coordinate period end closing activities including account reconciliation preparation and review, journal entry preparation and review Assist in annual independent financial audits by preparing necessary schedules and coordinating with independent auditors Ensure compliance with internal control procedures Develop and oversee the implementation of business and accounting processes related to new accounting principles Collaborate with corporate accounting, tax, treasury, and other corporate departments.Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in progressive accounting roles required, ideally some experience at a Senior Accountant level or above Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any Business related field required Any prior industry experience working in the Manufacturing/Production or Distribution/Warehousing fields a plus, but not required Strong General Ledger accounting experience a key requirement Experience working with various account reconciliations and month-end adjustments desired Familiarity with Sage 100 software desired, but not required Experience in financial statement preparation and month-over-month analysis Ability to prepare monthly and year-end financial statements Experience with financial planning & analysis (FP& A) functions a plus, but not required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
