This individual will be responsible for supervising. Supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning, and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. This position requires professional judgment, skill and knowledge, excellent communication, computer skills as well as the ability to work independently. The position requires travel and the incumbent is responsible for the following:

Providing day-to-day supervision and oversight for the Data Informatics Unit, which provides data and operations support to the program for hearing screening, CMV screening, diagnostic reporting, early intervention referrals, and the Children’s Hearing Aid Program to ensure the program meets federal and state requirements.

Conducting routine quality assurance desk reviews and periodic in-person observations of data informatics unit activities to ensure work product is timely, complete, and reliable.

Providing written and timely feedback to staff on performance.

Coaching staff on performance improvement opportunities.

Providing monthly, at a minimum, status reports to program administration on quality assurance performance and activities.

In collaboration with program administration, drafting annual performance reports, updates to work plans, evaluation plans and reports, and other related materials for two federal grants.

Conducting monthly supervision sessions with each Data Informatics Unit staff member for feedback on, at a minimum, workload, performance, and professional development opportunities.

Planing, leading, tracking, and reporting on program performance for hearing screening, CMV screening, diagnostic reporting, early intervention enrollment, and the Children’s Hearing Aid Program and overseeing continuous quality improvement activities.

Participating in various workgroups, meetings and conferences related to newborn hearing screening or as assigned to educate and engage program stakeholders. Following-up on actions related to these workgroups, meetings, and conferences.

Serving as back up for Data Informatics Unit staff and program administration.

Performing other related administrative duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

This position will require knowledge, skills and abilities, including:

Knowledge of early intervention programs and service delivery systems for newborns and toddlers and the continuum of care for children with special health/developmental needs.

Ability to communicate effective verbally and in writing, to prepare written material and to conduct oral presentations.

Skills in developing working relationships between policy level and direct service providers and to work effectively in a team centered environment.

Knowledge of methods for evaluating programs based on stated program standards.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.

Ability to implement quality assurance activities and facilitate community collaboration activities.

Ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in the field of human services, public health, business administration, data informatics or a related field; (relevant experience on a year to year basis can substitute for specific degree requirement).

Two years experience with direct supervisory and/or management (duties must be within the last five years).

Two years experience in data management, data analysis, or other data administration functions including collection and distribution.
