SSO is committed to a diverse workforce, which is a reflection of our clients and the people they serve.Project Manager - Albany, NYOQPS 1032Summary:The Project Manager will work in the Clinical Center in the Office of Quality and Patient Safety in the New York State Department of Health (Department). The employee will collaborate with office staff on various quality improvement programs and initiatives required by State or Federal law including but not limited to: the New York State the Stroke Designation Program, the Sepsis Care Improvement Initiative, Medicaid External Quality Review Organization projects, the New York State Patient Centered Medical Home Program (PCMH), Cardiac Services and Office Based Surgery.Responsibilities:

Assist with current quality improvement programs, including reviewing and updating guidance, researching and proposing strategies for addressing technical and programmatic issues, summarizing analytic findings and synthesizing information in policy development, presenting detailed information to internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring regulatory and contractual deliverables are completed as necessary.

Assist the Stroke Designation Program, including reviewing applications for Departmental designations, answering questions both verbally and written, and outreaching to hospitals and stakeholders.

Participate in new program/initiative implementation. Research and interpret government policies, and provide guidance to staff, contractors, and community partners, as appropriate.

Monitor project plans and maintain schedules and timelines for various office programs, including those with annual State and Federal deadline requirements.

Plan agendas, prepare materials, and participate in Advisory Groups, Councils, Workgroups, and other forums to contribute to the deliverables of the office’s programs. Plan for meetings and prepare agendas, communicate with members outside of formal meetings, summarize meeting contents and actions, complete vetting packages for new and reappointed Council members, and communicate with the Department’s Office of Governmental and External Affairs for necessary updates and approvals.

Basic Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of professional experience.

Prior project management or project coordination experience highly preferred.

Ability to work well in a close team environment.

Ability to support multiple projects.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort communicating with clinical external stakeholders.

Familiar with health care delivery, Medicaid, managed care, health care quality improvement and performance measurement.

Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)

Must be a United States Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the United States to be considered for this role.
