Sr. Accountant
Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the Insurance industry, located in Minnesota. The role involves a variety of tasks, including account reconciliations, maintaining accurate records, and improving existing processes.Responsibilities: Perform account reconciliations effectively and efficiently Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity Provide insightful feedback and ideas for process documentation Handle balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations Perform month-end closing activities and generate journal entries Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis Leverage skills in SAP to streamline accounting processes Aid in the relief of workload for team members Take the initiative in identifying and resolving issues in account reconciliations.Requirements Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an accounting role, preferably within the insurance industry. Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Demonstrable experience with general ledger activities and journal entries. Mastery of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. Proven experience with month-end close procedures. Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning software. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Detail oriented accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CGA) is preferred. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
