Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Painter to oversee painting projects and ensure high-quality finishes on various surfaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial painting and concrete finishing, along with the ability to read blueprints and manage a team effectively. This role requires a keen eye for detail, knowledge of color theory, and proficiency in using hand tools for fixture installation and remodeling tasks.

Duties

Lead and supervise painting projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, or applying primer as needed.

Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.

Collaborate with team members to plan project timelines and allocate resources efficiently.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, performing minor repairs as necessary.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all painting activities.

Train and mentor junior painters on techniques and safety protocols.

Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality control.

Cut and tape plastic separating film to outside repair areas in order to avoid damaging surrounding surfaces during repair procedure, and remove tape and wash surfaces after repairs are complete

Prime and paint repaired surfaces, using paint spray guns and motorized sanders

Ability to sit, stand, kneel or lay in various positions around military equipment with the intent of surface prepping, sanding, masking, taping, covering over, priming, painting, inspecting and retouching painted areas to completion of the painting

Experience

Proven experience in industrial painting, concrete finishing, plaster application, and remodeling.

Familiarity with estimate reading to interpret project specifications accurately.

Strong skills in using hand tools and equipment related to painting

2-5 year experience

Knowledge of basic hand tools such as air sanders, air ratchet, spray guns, and sanding blocks

Experienced with applying water and solvent borne paint systems

Experienced with applying effect coatings

An understanding of proper spraying techniques

Pay: $22.33 - $32.00 per hour can be discussed depending on experience
