Maintenance Multi Craft Technician
The Multi-Craft Technician will safely perform all necessary duties and responsibilities relative to general maintenance and electrical repair of machines, equipment, Powerhouse, buildings and grounds, inclusive of but not limited to the following:
Troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of machines
Constructing, installing, maintaining and removing all types of machinery and equipment used as a part of or a supplement to the plant operations.
Machine shop work, tooling, pipefitting, mechanical work, carpentry work, sheet metal work, and rigging. Multicraft Technicians are required to furnish their own basic hand tools.
Conduct inspections, preventative maintenance, repair, spill containment, clean up, and recordkeeping of environmental systems.
Performing basic structural welding tasks as needed.
Perform all the necessary duties and responsibilities related to lubrication of machines, equipment, vehicles, and buildings on plant grounds. This consists of, but is not limited to the following: changing or applying oils, greases or compounds in the above-mentioned areas to reduce friction and prolong life of moving parts; cleaning and changing oil filters; servicing air line lubrication and filtering equipment; cleaning both inside and outside of hydraulic units and oil reservoirs; taking oil samples; and repairing any minor miscellaneous leaks found on equipment while servicing.
Establish lubrication routes and know proper lubricant, amount, and attention required at each location.
Maintaining a complete oiling and lubrication schedule as directed by supervision.
Multicraft Technicians will also be responsible for all centrifuging and filtering operations that include moving, setting up, operating, and cleaning the centrifuge and filters, as directed by supervision.
Multicraft Technicians will report to supervision any need for supplies and any unusual conditions that exist during the workday.
Multicraft Technicians may also be required to drive company vehicles on plant property. They are responsible for handling the necessary paperwork, keeping their work area clean and notifying Supervision of any problems encountered in their operation.
Assist in safety and fire prevention inspections as well as incipient fire control as necessary
Responsible for performing all job duties in accordance with ContiTech’s environmental policy and applicable work instructions.
Monitor process and machine parameters during critical belt runs.
Troubleshoot machine malfunctions using PLC techniques and will be able to improve plant processes
through PLC program modifications.
Troubleshoot AC and DC controls including changing of fuses, coils, contacts, and relays.
Audit machine set points and process parameters for performance to specifications.
Verifying calibration of process controllers and recorders.
Document machine PLC programs, troubleshooting activities and audit findings.
Install and repair electrical equipment including, but not limited to, switch gear, motors, starters, switches, instruments from wiring diagrams, sketches, and instruction manuals.
install cable rack, cable, conduit, and pull wire.
Maintain inside and outside lighting including incandescent, fluorescent and mercury vapor fixtures
Maintain motors and be capable of working safely on voltages up to 480.
Responsible for keeping their work area clean.
The position involves working occasionally around heat, dirt, grease, oil, contact with water, etc.
The position involves working at various heights.
The position involves a high degree of responsibility - for correct analysis and quality work - Improper repair will result in safety concerns, waste of time and material.
Must furnish their own basic hand tools.
Must be capable of using standard electrical instruments such as an amp meter, voltmeter, and megger tester.
Must be capable of reading from blueprints, sketches, and/or specifications.
