This individual will lead efforts to acquire new customers, grow market share, and enhance the company’s competitive positioning within the advanced therapies sector, including cell and gene therapies. The Principal is directly involved in developing and executing strategies that align with the company’s revenue goals and operational objectives, focusing oncustomer acquisition and sales growth. This role will also have responsibility for coordinating efforts across one or more service lines within BBG Advanced Therapies, including Cell Therapy Testing and Analytical Development, BioManufacturing and Process Development, and Starting Materials and Clinical Research Services. This cross- functional role ensures that strategic market initiatives are effectively integrated across these service lines to maximize business impact. Support, communicate and reinforce the mission and vision of the enterprise.Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential TasksMarket Development and Strategic Growth:Develop and execute comprehensive market development strategies that align with the organization’s mission and strategic objectives.Actively pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base and increase market share globally, with a focus on customer acquisition and driving sales.Drive strategic growth initiatives across advanced therapy service lines, including Cell Therapy Testing,BioManufacturing, and Starting Materials, as assigned by the Head of Growth and Partnerships.Customer Acquisition and Sales Leadership:Lead efforts to identify and secure new customers, working closely with the sales team to develop targetedsales plans and achieve established revenue goals.Engage directly in high-level sales activities, including customer presentations, negotiations, and closing deals to meet or exceed sales targets.Develop long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring BBG Advanced Therapies is positioned as a preferred partner.Service Line Coordination:Coordinate market development efforts across one or more BBG Advanced Therapies service lines, including Cell Therapy Testing and Analytical Development, BioManufacturing and Process Development, and Starting Materials and Clinical Research Services.Work with Operations and internal subject matter experts to gather client technical information, develop solutions, and ensure strategic initiatives are aligned and integrated across these service lines to optimize business performance.Partnership and Collaboration:Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, finance, and marketing, to support the development and execution of market strategies.Work closely with operational leadership to align pricing models with market demands and company operating margin goals.Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment of business objectives and coordinate on field campaigns with specific business goals.Market Intelligence and Industry Engagement:Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and meetings, positioning the company as a leader in advanced therapies.Budget Development and Financial Management:Lead the development and management of budgets related to market development activities, ensuringalignment with corporate strategies.Oversee Profit & Loss (P&L) performance within areas of responsibility, analyzing financial reports to inform pricing and strategic decisions.Team Collaboration and Leadership:Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, including Associates, to support their professional development.Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture within the team.Work closely with Sales leadership and marketing to develop and execute marketing plans focused on newaccounts.Performs other duties as assigned.EducationRequires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university. The required major is Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.Prefer a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.Licenses and/or CertificationsValid United States Driver’s LicenseExperienceRequires seven years in the field of Advanced Therapies, including experience in market development, business development, or sales within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries.Requires a proven track record of leading successful growth initiatives and closing high-value partnerships. Requires experience in customer acquisition and sales within global markets.Prefer leadership or supervisory experience within a life science-based company.KnowledgeMust have knowledge of the cell & gene therapy supply chain landscape, including biological starting materials and biomanufacturing.Must have familiarity with regulatory/quality compliance, including FDA, EU, ISO, cGMP, and other industry standards.Must have a strong understanding of the advanced therapies landscape, including cell and gene therapy market trends, regulatory considerations, and competitive dynamics.SkillsMust be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.Must have high level of proficiency using Client Relationship Management (CRM) software, such as Salesforce, and other web-based applications.Must possess excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.Must be proficient in budget development and financial management, including P&L analysis.Must have strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable growth strategies.Must possess excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, with a track record of establishing and maintaining high-value partnerships.Must demonstrate leadership experience with the ability to build, motivate, and lead a high-performing team.AbilitiesMust be a self-starter and self-directed worker, capable of making sound judgment decisions.Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, handling multiple requests simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracy.Must be professional, detail-oriented, self-motivated, innovative, collaborative, assertive, organized, communicative, and able to work independently.Must have strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities, in addition to excellent public speaking and public relations skills.Working EnvironmentWorks in a well-lighted, air conditioned and heated office.
