Job Overview

The Channel Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the company's presence on various online travel agencies (OTAs) and other distribution channels. This role involves ensuring accurate property listings and pushing prices to help maximize occupancy rates and channel risks. The Channel Manager will play a crucial role in the company's growth by increasing visibility and booking conversion rates.

Key Responsibilities

Listing Management: Create and update property listings on OTAs such as Airbnb, Vrbo, Expedia, and Booking.com, ensuring all information is accurate and appealing. Work closely with property owners to gather and verify listing information.

Pricing Strategy: Ensure revenue and accounting teams know how to support markups, markdowns, configurations and owner reporting.

Channel Optimization: Monitor and analyze channel performance, making data-driven adjustments to improve visibility and bookings. Regularly review and optimize content, photos, and descriptions for each listing, understand value adds, target markets, strengths and weaknesses of each channel and provide information to the Revenue team for their pricing strategy.

Channel Management: Collaborate with the outside Channel Managers, direct OTAs and other distribution channels to optimize the company's presence. Ensure pricing and inventory are effectively managed across all channels.

Guest Communication: Work with Guest Services and Reservations on support and communications processes with guest inquiries and with each channel, ensuring a seamless booking and support experience. Resolve issues promptly and maintain high standards of guest satisfaction.

Data Synchronization: Ensure calendars and availability are synchronized across all channels to avoid double bookings. Use property management software to streamline operations.

Compliance: Ensure all listings comply with OTA policies, local regulations, and company standards. Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices.

Reporting & Analysis: Generate regular reports on channel performance, revenue, and occupancy rates. Provide actionable insights to senior management based on data analysis. Use metrics to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with OTA representatives and other partners to maximize opportunities for promotion and visibility. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with distribution partners.

Technology Utilization: Leverage advanced property management and channel management software to automate and enhance operations. Stay informed about new tools and technologies in the market.

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience as a Channel Manager or in a similar role within the vacation rental or hospitality industry. Experience with revenue management and dynamic pricing is a plus.

Skills: Strong knowledge of OTAs and vacation rental platforms, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and proficiency in using property management software and analytics tools. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
