DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Description
This is a first-line supervisory position with responsibility to act in support of the Operations Supervisor. This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of the pipeline operators and supervising the maintenance and operation of the pipeline.Essential duties and responsibilities:
Demonstrate and demand a safety culture of zero accidents. Ensure compliance with company manuals and policies.
Take all possible measures to protect the environment, the public, employees, and assets.
Take responsibility for the compliance of required safety and governmental documentation. Ensure documentation is up to date and complete. Understand and be proficient in gauging and operations.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the pipeline gaugers.
Take overall responsibility for equipment maintenance and repair on the system in your assigned area.
Consult with Operations Supervisor on large maintenance and repair issues.
Oversee contractors to ensure safety and quality on projects assigned to you.
Review and approve invoices from contractors for work done in your assigned area.
Use good critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems.
Be open and receptive to change and the exchange of ideas.
Hold operational meetings and ensure the proper training of the pipeline operators.
Understand emergency procedures, review SPCC and FRP annually, and be prepared for emergency response within your assigned area.
Maintain customer relationships and provide excellent customer service by maintaining communication and aggressively solving problems that arise. Notify your supervisor of any issues.
During "on call" status, individual need to have cell phone with them at all times. Timely responses are essential.
Other duties as assigned.
Position RequirementsEducation and/or experience:
High school degree or equivalent.
General knowledge of gathering systems, product movement, pipeline construction, and pipeline maintenance.
Follows company policies, practices, and regulatory requirements.Qualifications:
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Customer orientation.
Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation to other employees of the company and outside contractors.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
Apply common sense understanding to carry out day-to-day operation issues.
Ability to make quick and reasonable decisions in sometimes-adverse conditions.Certificates, licenses, registrations:
Valid state operating license with acceptable driving record.Physical demands:

Walks an average of 5 miles per day, up to 7 miles per day.
