Scale House Operator/Material Inspector at Scrap Yard

We are looking for a hard working, energetic, not afraid to get dirty Scale House Operator to join our team!

Duties include, but not limited to:

Inspecting incoming material on customers vehicle before weighing in on truck scale to determine grade of metal(steel, aluminum, siding, stainless)

Properly recording in and out weights on scale tickets

Watching customers dump material in designated areas(steel pile, aluminum, siding etc.) to make sure unacceptable items are not left in the yard. For example; wood, plastic, propane tanks, tires, etc. Training will be provided.

Making sure customer is on the scale properly weighing in and out to avoid incorrect weights(over or underpayment)

Keeping area clear on debris in-between weigh ins. Sweeping around and under scale and warehouse exterior, along fence.

Job does not call for sitting in scale house at all times just printing on tickets! There is always a job to be done.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

This job needs to get done despite weather, meaning duties are performed outdoors regardless of rain, snow, heat, or cold weather conditions. We provide coverall/jackets during winter and space heater in the scale house
