On January 20, 2017, Portage, Inc., was acquired by North Wind Group.POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to review output from subcontract analytical laboratories to ensure that environmental chemistry data are of known quality and were generated in accordance with EPA, DOE and DOD guidelines, quality assurance project plans, and industry standard methods.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Validate analytical chemistry data following national standards and company procedures.

Prepare comprehensive written reports with findings.

Ensure proper preparation, preservation, and laboratory operations for the assigned methods.

Quickly and accurately operate the North Wind data management systems.

Monitor workflow for incoming client requests and manage backlog and due dates.

Manage time spent and other performance metrics as requested by supervisor.

Communicate in timely and effective manner with peers and supervisors.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review other's data validation reports to ensure accurate and error-free work products.

Provide on-the-job training in their technical specialty to other staff.

Communicate with analytical laboratories and clients as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:

Bachelor of science in environmental, chemistry or similar; or 4 years' experience working in analytical laboratories.

Additional 5 years' experience with analytical chemistry and/or environmental data validation.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to follow technical guidance and perform basic mathematical calculations.

Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently, including prompt communication of potential delays.

Ability to describe technical information with clear and concise language to produce error-free written reports.

Ability to understand analytical procedures, laboratory operations and raw data reporting.

Ability to develop/maintain proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, Monday, and EQuIS.

Demonstrates excellent cross-functional team collaboration skills.

Consistently displays a positive and respectful attitude externally with clients and internally with co-workers.

Shares knowledge readily and participates in team communication and activities.

Works in a highly organized manner and with strong attention to detail.

Demonstrates integrity and a commitment to quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with analytical chemistry laboratory operations for environmental samples.

Experience reviewing analytical reports to evaluate quality and usability.
