Senior Cost Accountant
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, Outdoors, the Senior Cost Accountant assists the controllership function in our mission of timely and accurate reporting of financial results and ensuring internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively.  This role will have a focus on cost accounting and general accounting duties across all Outdoors businesses including Larson, Therma-Tru, and Fiberon.The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of general accounting experience plus some cost accounting experience in a production/manufacturing environment, strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting, and have experience working with large ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, or Netsuite.This role can be hybrid-based out of any of our corporate locations: Deerfield, IL (preferred), Maumee, OH, North Olmsted, OH, or Oak Creek, WI.Salary: $90,000 - $100,000/year plus annual bonus programWhat you will be doing:As a key contributor in the month-end closing process you will:Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Create journal entries (JEs) that tie to detail supporting documentationPrepare balance sheet reconciliations by tying general ledger balance to detailed supportInvestigate and determine remediation for unreconciled differencesAs a primary contributor to the cost accounting function at the Outdoors BU you will:Determine, record, and report on the monthly excess inventory and obsolescence reservesSummarize the cost implications of standard cost rollups and oversee the rollup processCollaborate with the Sourcing/Procurement function to provide purchase price variance and inflation reporting; partner with leadership to establish appropriate action plansMonthly reconciliation of inventory financial balances to system perpetual balances, including investigation of and adjusting for differencesAnalyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and provide actionable insights to managementEmphasis on internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environmentPerform assigned tasks, including special projects, analysis, and communication as directed by managementSupport Leadership with ad hoc reporting as neededControl owner of several key SOX controls as listed in the SOX risk and Controls Matrix
