Accenture Flexemployees work in their local metro area onsite at the project, significantly reducing and/or eliminating the demands to travel.Key Responsibilities:We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Legacy Windows Builds and Windows Server Rebuilds Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on managing, rebuilding, and maintaining legacy Windows server environments, ensuring they are secure, stable, and optimized for current needs. The engineer will work closely with the infrastructure, systems administration, and support teams to execute system rebuilds, migrations, and ensure compatibility with modern systems and applications.Key Responsibilities:Legacy Windows Builds:

Manage, configure, and deploy legacy Windows builds (e.g., Windows Server 2003/2008/2012) within the organization’s IT infrastructure.

Conduct detailed assessments of legacy builds and identify necessary upgrades or patches to ensure compatibility with modern hardware and software environments.

Support the transition and migration from legacy Windows builds to newer, more secure versions, including the execution of necessary system rebuilds and reconfigurations.

Provide expert support for legacy Windows environments, troubleshooting issues related to performance, security, and compatibility.

Windows Server Rebuilds:

Lead the planning, execution, and management of Windows Server rebuilds to optimize system performance, security, and reliability.

Ensure the rebuilds follow best practices for system hardening, patching, and configuration.

Work with the systems administration team to deploy and configure Windows Server builds, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy configurations.

Conduct post-rebuild testing, ensuring all services and applications are functioning as expected.

System Migration and Upgrades:

Plan and execute migrations from legacy Windows environments to newer versions (e.g., Windows Server 2016/2019/2022).

Ensure that all necessary applications, services, and user data are successfully transferred during server rebuilds or migrations.

Perform testing and validation to confirm that systems are fully operational after rebuilds and upgrades.

Security and Compliance:

Implement security patches and updates during server rebuilds and legacy Windows builds.

Ensure that rebuilt servers comply with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.

Assist in vulnerability assessments and system audits for legacy Windows environments.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with infrastructure, IT, and support teams to ensure seamless execution of Windows server rebuilds and management of legacy environments.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Windows Server-related issues, particularly with legacy builds.

Assist in the development of documentation and best practices for rebuilding and maintaining legacy Windows environments.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed documentation of rebuild processes, configurations, and issues encountered during rebuilds.

Provide regular updates and reports on the status of legacy Windows builds and rebuild efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 2+ years of work experienece.

Experience with Legacy Windows Builds, Windows Server Rebuilds

HS Diploma / GED

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Windows Server virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V).

Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and integrating legacy systems into cloud environments.

Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windows Server environments.

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or MCSE are a plus.

Experience with performance tuning and monitoring tools for Windows Server environments.
