Mobile Diesel Technician

BIR Fleet Services is a progressively growing, financially stable, and diversified company, who is currently seeking a qualified Field Service Mechanic. We encourage all applicants to have at least 7+ years of Heavy Truck / Equipment Mechanical Experience for this position.

Work Schedule

-5 day work schedule offered

-Expected to work some Saturdays pending coverage and work load.

-PAY: $25.00+ per hour DOE

Diesel Mechanic Duties & Responsibilities

-Road call and Field Service for truck, trailer, and equipment repairs.

-Diagnostic and repairs of multiple makes of equipment.

-Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors , trailers, and heavy equipment.

-Check vehicle fluids; transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.

-Change vehicle tires.

-Preventive maintenance

-Repair and replace parts

-Grease mechanical parts

-Perform other duties as assigned.

-Clean and maintain work area daily.

-Maintain service vehicle in a presentable and orderly fashion.

Diesel Mechanic Qualifications

-Minimum of 7 years Diesel Mechanic experience

-Possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a Heavy truck / Equipment Mechanic. Including ¾ drive sockets and larger wrenches. Diagnostic software and Service Vehicle provided by BIR.

-In-depth knowledge of heavy truck air system operation and diagnoses.

-Experience lifting with a crane and other lifting equipment.

-Ability to use good judgment with superior decision-making skills.

-Ability to understand and follow directions provided by management.

-Extensive electrical and diagnostic abilities.

-Understanding of hydraulic principles and ability to diagnose hydraulic systems.

-Technical understanding of current electronic engines, transmissions, vehicles, and after treatment systems.

-Ability to work on multiple makes and models of trucks and equipment.

-Ability to provide quality communications to customer’s and accept onsite payment, when required

-Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

-Must have valid state issued driver’s license and clean driving record.

-Must have a verifiable employment history.
