Position SummaryOEM is seeking a Training and Exercise Coordinator. Candidates for this position should possess a strong desire to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, professional public safety environment, and a willingness to serve the public in the sixth largest city in the nation. The Training and Exercise Coordinator reports to the Training & Exercise Program Manager.  The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate the capacity to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, think and communicate clearly, develop, and maintain professional interpersonal relationships, and is self-motivated, inquisitive, and adept at working with diverse groups.The Training and Exercise Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of training opportunities for OEM staff and Emergency Management partners so they have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from complex events and emergencies.Essential FunctionsUnder the direction of the Training & Exercise Program Manager, the Training and Exercise Coordinator is responsible for a range of activities including, but not limited to the following:Training Information ManagementMaintain a public calendar of training opportunities hosted by OEM and our partners.Share available training opportunities to OEM Staff and EM partners and provide necessary information about the sessionsMaintain updated database of available curriculumMaintain updated database of training recordsTraining & Exercises Plan SupportSupport the development of the annual Training & Exercises Plan (TEP)Help plan the annual TEP WorkshopTraining Delivery SupportSetup and prepare for trainings hosted by OEMProvide participants with the information they need to successfully participate in the training sessionsGather feedback from training participantsPrepare educational materials for training sessionsInternship ProgramSolicit OEM staff for internship projects and opportunitiesRecruit intern applicantsScreen intern applicantsSchedule and facilitate internship interviews in coordination with intern mentorsOnboard and orient new internsPlan and manage activities and educational opportunities for internship participantsTraining DesignCollaborate with emergency management staff and partners to identify opportunities where locally developed training may help fill knowledge gapsCoordinate with stakeholders to develop Philadelphia specific emergency management trainingsProgram CoordinationLead formal and ad hoc interagency workgroups and task forces made up of senior representatives for routine and emergency issues.Conduct timely correspondence within and outside of the Office.Perform other duties as assigned.Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills required.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide range of people required. Flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously required.Equally comfortable working individually and within a team environment that emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration in a dynamic environmentComfortable presenting to and facilitating conversations with large groups of diverse participants
