THE POSITIONAre you an experienced professional who thrives in the field of information technology (IT) and has excellent leadership skills? If so, the Office of Administration is seeking an ambitious Information Technology Generalist Administrator 2 to serve as the Data Protection Team Manager within the Enterprise Compute and Cloud Services team. This is an advanced and highly technical position providing navigation and management to the Enterprise Data Protection team, which provides data backup and recovery services for all servers and databases within the Enterprise. Showcase your talents while working alongside of a dynamic group of colleagues! DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs the Data Protection Team Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the Enterprise backup infrastructure environment and e nsuring that all backups are completed successfully within the required backup window. This position supports and leads both Commonwealth employees and contractors, therefore you must have advanced knowledge of EMC Networker, Avamar, and Data Protection Advisor. Additional responsibilities include reviewing daily reports on the status of backup jobs and providing management with dashboards that provide visibility into the overall operation and performance of the backup environment. This professional d evelops and tracks procedures for tracking off-site tape storage, data restoration, recovery testing, data encryption, and disaster recovery. This position also entails c onducting research designed to improve both current and long-range goals of the Enterprise’s customers. Interested in learning more? Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the office 50% of scheduled hours, alternating weekly schedules of Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Tuesday, Thursday. This schedule may be adjusted based upon operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Information Technology Generalist Administrator 1, Senior Applications Developer, Database Administrator 1, Data Administrator 1, Information Security Specialist 2, or Network Administrator 1; or

Four years of information technology experience that includes three years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or

Six years of information technology experience that includes three years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services; or

Two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.
