Fleet Mechanic performs maintenance and repair services on company fleet of trucks, trailers, tractors, heavy equipment, snowplows, salt spreaders, small engines, and 2-cycle equipment, as well as:

- Develop and ensure preventative maintenance plans are in place for all company equipment

- Self performs many maintenance and repair services on company fleet of trucks, trailers, tractors, heavy-equipment, snowplows, salt spreaders, small engines, and 2-cycle equipment.

- Will lead outsourcing of repairs unable to be completed in-house. This will include locating vendors and communications with vendors before, during and after repairs.

- Occasionally may be required to make mobile repairs in the field

- Complete maintenance & repairs according to industry & quality standards deemed acceptable by the company

- Efficiently complete maintenance & repairs according to time standards deemed acceptable by the company

- Works with Branch Manager to secure POs for all purchases prior to ordering

- Keep assigned work area neat, clean, and organized

- Report all incidents and injuries to Branch Manager immediately

- Complete other tasks as assigned that contribute to the effective operation of our service & repair department

- Always represent the company in a positive and professional manner. This includes overall appearance of the shop area, parts/supply rooms and storage areas.

- Embrace and practice education and continuous improvement, to expand knowledge and grow in terms of level of responsibility and contribution to company

Requirements:

- Pass pre-employment drug screen

- Have DOT Card or willing to obtain it

- DOT Inspector Training (preferred)

- Consent to random, reasonable suspicion, and post incident drug testing

- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

- Must be insurable by Brilar insurance carrier

- Be mechanically inclined

- 3 years or more working in a repair facility environment

- Prior experience working in the “landscape green” industry is a plus

- Required to work assigned schedule, which is Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays during green season (April - October)

- Able to work in different weather elements including and not limited to extreme heat, cold, snow, wind, and rain or able to work

- Required to be on call 24/7 during the winter season including weekends and holidays

- During the winter season must be time flexible, without schedule restrictions

- During the winter season are expected to complete their assigned shift and/or route, expect and be well prepared to work long hours when called

- Able to multi-task, working with multiple projects at one time

- Have and utilize one’s own basic mechanic’s tools

- Have a positive attitude, be reliable, and demonstrate the qualities of a team player

- Able to communicate and work well with others

- Able to lift 50+ lbs., bend, walk repeatedly for a continuous period

- Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision

- Able to follow instructions and complete assignments

- Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly
