OB Technician Labor & Delivery

About the UnitThis role will be in our Labor and Delivery Unit of Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.Scope of WorkActs as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Performs basic skills per hospital/unit guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Is responsible for preparing the obstetrical/gynecologic suite, handling obstetrical/gynecologic instruments intraoperatively and maintaining a sterile field for obstetrical/gynecologic procedures. Evaluates changing conditions during the obstetrical/gynecologic procedures and makes appropriate responses to them.Qualifications

Required High School Diploma or equivalent experience

1 year of relevant experience in recent, relevant patient care is required

Previous experience with opening sterile supplies/instrument handling/autoclaving, etc. Preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 Days required

Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or CNA cert are preferred
