Lay-Up Technician / Composite (Fiberglass) Laminator
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble detail components
Pre-fit the details to ensure conformity to customer
Lay-up assemblies in accordance with the mylars provided. May use cutting tools, heat guns and measuring equipment
Place mylar (blueprint) over the entire part to ensure correct placement
Visually inspect each piece. Call a Quality Inspector to inspect each detail
Complete all required information on the traveler form
Deliver parts to the table to be prepared for the
Work as part of a team to "bag" down the table. Process includes securing the parts with a bag and putting vacuum tubes in place using bag seal tape.
Inspection will verify the bag adequately passes leak check
Clean tables, floors, and hand tools on a daily basis
Lay-Up Technicians shall be certified after 90 days of hire

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or zero to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
Composite (Fiberglass) lamination experience or b
oat, aviation, automotive, seamstress exp.
Ability to use cutting tools and measuring devices
ERP/Invoice software exp.
Ability to read blueprints, mylars, customer-supplied data
Airframe certification preferred but not required
Communication Skills:Must speak, read and write English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills are required
