Mechanical Engineer, Machine design.

A Manufacturer of custom machines and equipment in Central MN is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time position as a Senior Design Engineer/Project Manager. Experience and proficiency in design of machinery and similar equipment is required along with a minimum of 10 years design experience in a related industry. Qualified candidate should have completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar mechanical design-related discipline. Responsibilities will include design of unique custom equipment for a broad range of industries, project management, and delegation of tasks to designers working under your direction who will assist in completing the project designs and shop drawings. The candidate should have leadership skills and the talent and skillset to produce sound, robust mechanical designs that are practical and manufacturable, with a high level of quality. Professional interaction with clients and strong communication skills is expected and required on an ongoing basis. The candidate should have knowledge of machine shop and fabrication activities which will reflect in your designs. Experience utilizing pneumatic, hydraulic and electric actuators is also necessary. This position is an hourly (40 hours) per week position, with occasional overtime if workload requires. Minimal travel may be required when projects warrant site visits for measurements, project kick-off meetings, etc. Benefits such as cost-shared health insurance and 401K with match are offered.
