Key Account Business Development Director
OverviewExpands and maintains relationships with strategically important large (KA) customers. Assigned to developing current Key Account customer base, the KA Business Development Director is responsible for KA list revenue growth and assigned Key Account objectives.KA BD Director represents the entire range of the company solutions and services to assigned customers while leading the Key Account planning cycle and ensure assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met.Responsible for organizing, planning and managing systems and resources necessary to support the Key Account strategy. The KABDD is ultimately responsible for the ongoing enhancement and support of a successful Key Accounts program.Responsibilities
Meeting Key Accounts Growth Target.
Monitor Key Accounts’ metrics, tracking, reporting, and analysis
Best Practice sharing of Key Account support
Achieves strategic objectives at Key Accounts defined by WuXi executive team.
Work with executive sponsors, sales team members, and stakeholders to ensure the Key Accounts achieve goals that align with company strategy. Analyze and report metrics on the Key Accounts.
Effectively manage and plan company resources to ensure the Key Accounts’ strategies and support can function successfully.
Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned KAs and actively participates in formal Business Review process.
Key Account Customer Focus: be able to understand the customer’s needs, effectively manage their expectations, use diplomacy when dealing with sensitive customer issues, and escalate concerns when necessary.
Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
Proactively leads joint company-Key Account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones over the term of KA agreements.
Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates KA customer needs on an ongoing basis while working to a Preferred Partnership status with the KA.Works closely with Portfolio mgmt. team to identify specific programs to penetrate Key Accounts.
Works closely with ED to align strategy and tactical steps .
Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals
Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
Proposed Essential Functions :
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients.
Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing inquiries, concerns and needs.
Account Strategy Development:
Develop and implement strategic account plans to meet client needs and achieve company objectives.
Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding services.
Performance Monitoring:
Track account performance, sales growth, and client satisfaction metrices.
Prepare regular reports on account progress and share insights with internal teams.
Collaboration:
Coordinate with internal teams (BOD and Portfolio management teams) to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and services.
Communicate client feedback to relevant teams for continuous improvement.
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with assigned accounts.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profit while meeting client expectations.
Problem Solving:
Address client issues promptly and work to resolve conflicts effectively.
Provide innovative solutions to enhance client experience.

Achievement of sales targets for assigned accounts
QualificationsExperience / Education :
Min of 6 years of Big Pharma experience
Min of Masters’ degree in biological sciences is required.
Deep understanding of WuXi AppTec’s industry products and services
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Ability/experience in facilitating and influencing at the executive level.
Regular field travel required to build relationships with KA and understand needs.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive and manage cross-functional teams.
Experience and proficiency in the Key Account BD .
Strong communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
Strong Project Management and multitasking skills.
Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
Strong Conflict Management skills
Strong Negotiation skills
Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Travel is required min of 30%
