Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and patient interaction to maintain an efficient and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas in accordance with infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards.
Manage patient records, ensuring accurate medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
Schedule appointments and manage the dental office's appointment systems effectively.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a comfortable environment for young patients.
Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and endodontics practices.
Skills
Proficient in medical records management and medical documentation practices.
Strong understanding of infection control measures within a clinical setting.
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to effectively assist with child patients.
Ability to navigate dental terminology confidently in both verbal and written communication.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
Experience with endodontics is a plus but not required.
