Entry Level Environmental Technician

Job Description:
The successful candidate will perform field sampling, documentation, monitoring and reporting on a variety of projects located on Oahu and throughout the State of Hawaii. Typical projects include mold, water damage, asbestos and/or lead paint assessment, soil and groundwater investigation, and oversight for remediation and construction activities. Some travel is required. Successful candidates may be requested to perform extended neighbor island assignments.
Employment Status:
Full time employee position. Hybrid work from home/in office status available after successful completion of on-boarding.
Work Schedule:
Full time employment may include evening and weekend assignments, as well as extended assignments to the neighbor islands.
Compensation:
This is a professional salaried position with medical/dental, PTO, recognized holidays, professional training, flexible work schedule, 401k benefits.
Strting salary is for entry level candidates. Candidates with applicable experience will earn more.
Requirements:
One or more years of successful work experience, Environmental work preferred but not required
Excellent interpersonal skills
Self-motivated
Ability to communicate clearly, read and write in English
Detail oriented with excellent written communication skills
Computer and technology efficient
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Ability to take control of assigned work
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of clients
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, and have clean driving record
Must have dependable transportation and Hawaii Driver's License
Strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
Four-year college degree in physical, biological, geological or related science
Environmental consulting or related experience
State of Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) certifications in asbestos and lead
Knowledge of the DOH Technical Guidance Manual
Successful experience with Phase I/Phase II Environmental Assessments and/or preparation and implementation of Environmental Hazard Evaluation/Environmental Hazard Management Plan (EHMP/Construction EHMP.
Ability to perform as a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP)
