Job Description:
As a Service Writer at DriveTime Automotive, you will play a key role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our customers. You’ll be the bridge between our customers and our technicians, providing excellent customer service, accurate estimates, and transparent communication about repairs and services. The ideal candidate will have prior industry experience and a passion for providing top-quality service. Additionally, this role will involve ordering parts for our mechanics and following up with customers for deferred services.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, gathering necessary information about their vehicle and service needs.
Communicate clearly with customers about services needed, repairs, and estimated costs.
Create accurate repair orders and maintain clear, detailed records of all customer interactions and vehicle issues.
Provide customers with updates on the status of their vehicles and any additional issues or recommendations.
Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate repairs.
Order parts for mechanics to ensure the timely completion of repairs and services.
Follow up with customers for any deferred services or recommended repairs, ensuring they are aware of needed services.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient service area.
Handle customer concerns with professionalism, offering solutions when necessary.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in a service writing or customer-facing role.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with automotive repair order software and systems.
A customer-first attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and repair processes.
