Environmental, Health and Safety Technician - De Pere, WI
Job Summary: At Jones Sign, safety is our #1 core value. This is responsible for assisting the EHS Manager in promoting our culture of safety through employee interaction. This individual will demonstrate a passion for safety and provide coaching, tools, and training needed to make our employees successful. Duties and Expectations:
Provides a daily presence on the production floor(s) to be hands on and work with employees and equipment.
Support the required EHS standards to ensure the environmental, health, safety and security of employees.
Performs spot audits for employee compliance on inspections and daily job hazard analysis (JHA).
Participates in the investigation of near miss, incident, injury, or illness investigations to discover root cause and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences .
Conduct plant workplace inspections and audits to identify work hazards and exposure and create corrective actions.
Conduct and assist in developing EHS safety training for the workforce. Track and trend EHS training completed and facilitate makeup safety training in the EHS system.
Responsible for record-keeping and maintaining department files for environmental, health and safety.
Be a resource to employees on safety policies and procedures and the EHS system.
Facilitate new employee safety orientation and following up with new hires regularly to ensure safety expectations are being communicated and set along with addressing any safety concerns.
Assist in communicating safety information to management and employees through various work platforms.
Conducts inspections of safety equipment.
Collaborates with the Safety Manager to schedule and coordinate required monthly and yearly training sessions.
Other duties as assigned by the Safety Manager.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
High school Diploma and two or more years in a manufacturing setting.
Safety role or significant leadership role on an employee safety committee, preferred.
General understanding of OSHA regulations
OSHA 30 General Industry certification a plus
MEWP and PIT certification a plus
Ability to work independently and a self-starter.
Project management skills
Ability to address large groups in person or web conferencing.
