Looking for a caregiver in exchange for North Shore room + $2,000/mo
Looking for someone to look after my 93 year old mom. Must be female with some caregiving experience, preferably a nursing assistant (will ask for references). My mom is receiving hospice care, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she will pass soon. Just means that the focus is now on keeping her comfortable (reduced meds, no more doctor visits, no calling 911). We want to keep her at home, but she now needs 24/7 supervision. My mom is recently bedridden, so a caretaker would need to know how to change her diaper and clean her. The job would also require changing her clothes and bed sheets, feeding, and light housekeeping like disinfecting surfaces, sweeping/mopping, and sometimes a load of laundry or two. My mom sleeps a lot during the day, so that part usually isn't hard. She has dementia though, and her day and night are switched so nights can be tough. We are looking for a patient, kind lady, highly prefer someone who speaks Ilocano, who will not get frustrated even though she can say the same thing over and over. Everyone I've met from hospice care is so nice and wonderful; that's the kind of caregiver we're looking for!
There would of course be some days and more nights that you are off. On top of room and board, we could pay up to $2,000/mo more depending on your credentials and experience. We are not providing meals, but you can use any of our cooking supplies (oil, spices, even rice). If you like to cook, I'm pretty sure my brother would pay for groceries in exchange for prepared meals :) And of course household supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, handsoap, laundry detergent, etc. would be provided. If you take into account rent for the room and supplies, the salary is over $3,000.
If this sounds like a good deal to you and you have the qualifications we are looking for, I hope to hear from you! If we do choose you, we will ask you to get fingerprinted so that we can get a background check. So serious responses only please!
