Assistant Wine Buyer/Manager UES Wine & Spirits Shop

Hello!

We're a boutique wine & spirits shop on the Upper East Side seeking an eager and eligible candidate to fill an assistant buyer/manager position on our team. Our shop focus is dedicated to small production, lesser known regions, and producers that embrace organic, vegan, sustainable, and biodynamic ecological practices. We offer a fresh take to the wine & spirits retail experience in our neighborhood without the snobbery!

Assistant buyer duties include the following, but are not limited to:

Sourcing wines and tasting wine with the wine buyer

Writing shelf talkers and website descriptions for newly added wines

Writing weekly newsletters

Team Member responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Stocking & storing inventory of products in our cellar and on sales floor

Using POS system & cashier responsibilities

Local neighborhood deliveries

Hands-on customer service, aiding our clients through buying process

Assisting in shop tastings

Opening/closing shop duties

Shop maintenance

The ideal candidate is/has:

Wine or spirits knowledge with relevant work experience

At least 1 year in customer service (this is a customer service based position!)

Punctual

Comfortable with multi-tasking

An efficient worker on their own, as well as in a team environment

Open to expanding knowledge about the wine & spirits industries

Flexible availability (working nights, weekends, and holidays)

Able to lift +30lbs
