Maintenance Handyman

General Maintenance Roundsman (“Handyman”).

Midtown Manhattan 241 apartment, seven story HUD residential housing property is looking for a General Maintenance “Handyman”. Candidates should have a minimum of FIVE YEARS experience in professional NYC building maintenance. Uniforms are provided. Position is FULL TIME. Compensation based on experience and presentation at interview.

Responsibilities and Skills:

· Knowledge of NYC HUD /building codes and inspections

· Completing daily work orders in a timely manner

· Prepped and renovate vacant units

· Hybrid oil-gas boiler systems

· Basic plumbing, electrical, flooring, framing and drywall knowledge

· Basic hand tool use; such as drills, screw-guns, jigsaws, circular saws, tape measures, chop-saws, caulk-guns, snow blowers, dumpster dollies, power washers, generators, leaf blowers, bolt cutters, pneumatic nailers, etc.

· Experience with elevator systems and operations

· Landscaping and snow removal

· Ability to provide excellent customer service

· Ability to follow instructions and to work independently or as part of a team

· Attention to detail

· Good communication skills, both verbal and written

· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Bilingual, (English-Spanish) speaking candidates will be STRONGLY considered. Prefer candidate to have fast and easy commute to the Midtown West side of Manhattan. Must have strong tenant-service aptitude and skills. Looking for a self-starter type that can “own” work-orders and maintenance tasks.
