$25.64- $38.46/ hour, pay dependent on qualifications and in accordance with Oregon's Pay Equity Act.

Position Overview:
Eugene Springfield Fire is seeking a Fire Support Technician to provide support of department goals, objectives, strategies, and policies. This position provides ambulance billing and timekeeping support functions within the Administration division. The Fire Support Technician is responsible for maintaining confidential medical billing and files and will help settle accounts by phone or correspondence to collect past due accounts and provide customer service to the public. This position prepares personnel action forms, audits time between scheduling and timekeeping software, and responds to employee inquiries about recording time. The Fire Support Technician provides additional accounting support as needed.

Training & Experience:
The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. Such a way to meet minimum qualifications could include:
High school diploma and a minimum of two years of experience performing administrative support duties such as accounting, financial reconciliation, and data entry.
Preferences may be given for prior knowledge and experience:
Medical billing and coding
Collections and settlements
Accounts receivable or accounts payable experience
