IHSS Caregiver for Elderly Woman

Location: Silvercrest Senior Apartments, Eureka

Job Type: Part-Time, Flexible hours: approximately 12 hours/week, with a mutually agreed-upon schedule

Pay: $18/hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and patient IHSS caregiver to assist an elderly woman with dementia. The caregiver will primarily help with meal preparation, cooking, and ensuring medications are taken at the correct times. This is a vital role for someone who has a genuine passion for caregiving and understands the unique needs of individuals with dementia.

Responsibilities:

-Prepare and cook balanced meals tailored to dietary preferences

-Monitor and assist with timely medication administration

-Perform occasional laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing and linens as needed

-Provide gentle reminders for daily routines

Requirements:

-Must be an IHSS-eligible caregiver.

-Previous experience working with individuals with dementia is preferred.

-Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

-Ability to follow a daily schedule and adapt to changing needs.

-Reliable transportation to/from the home.
