Job Title: Hotel Housekeeper / Day Porter

Job Overview

We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking individuals to join our team as Hotel Housekeepers or Day Porters. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, inviting, and well-kept environment for hotel guests. This includes room cleaning, changing linens, and ensuring that all hotel amenities and common areas are spotless and well-stocked. While training is provided, prior experience in hotel housekeeping or cleaning roles is preferred. Candidates must be legally authorized to work and able to pass a background check and drug testing.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and prepare guest rooms, including changing bed linens, making beds, and vacuuming carpets.

Replenish room amenities, such as toiletries, towels, coffee, and tea supplies.

Maintain cleanliness in hotel common areas, including lobbies, hallways, fitness centers, and meeting rooms.

Clean and restock restrooms with necessary supplies (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.).

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and wiping down surfaces.

Empty trash cans and dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.

Ensure high-touch surfaces (e.g., elevator buttons, handrails, door handles) are regularly disinfected.

Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuums, floor scrubbers, and mops.

Address guest requests promptly and ensure any issues (e.g., broken equipment, missing supplies) are reported to management.

Respond quickly to emergency cleaning situations, such as spills or unexpected guest requests.

Perform light maintenance tasks, such as unclogging drains or changing light bulbs.

Qualifications

Must be legally authorized to work.

Ability to pass a background check and drug testing.

Previous housekeeping or hotel cleaning experience is preferred.

Familiarity with safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 50 lbs, and work on your feet for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.

Effective communication skills to interact with guests and report issues to management.

Ability to maintain detailed logs of completed tasks and areas cleaned.

Skills & Attributes

Experience with commercial cleaning and disinfection procedures for guest rooms and common areas.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.

A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Knowledge of hospitality industry standards for cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Familiarity with hotel laundry operations, including handling guest laundry requests if applicable.

Dependability, punctuality, and professionalism in all interactions with guests and team members.
