Living Learning Community ( LLC ) will create opportunities for first year students who are interested in community engagement to further explore opportunities through curricular and co-curricular high-impact volunteer engagement experiences. Students who opt into this community will develop their civic skills, habits, actions, and values in partnership with the Bennion Center for Community Engagement and local community organizations. This LLC will be housed in the Gail Miller Community Engagement Tower at Kahlert Village.The Bennion Center HIVE Coordinator works directly with the Student Cohorts Program Manager to support the students in this Living Learning Community as they explore community engagement through curriculum, events, and volunteer opportunities.Applicants for this role will need to have availability on weekends and evenings.ResponsibilitiesPosition SummaryHIVE Coordinator duties will include:
Build relationships with First-Year offices and spaces over the preceding spring and summer to advertise to and recruit first-year students for the HIVE .
Participate in any orientation events over the summer that have opportunities to engage with First-Year students.
Develop an application and interview process for the HIVE in collaboration with the Student Cohorts Program Manager.
Conduct pre-screening of HIVE applicants and assist with interviews.
Collaborate with Community Engagement Resident Advisors to hold regular resident meetings that are engaging and follow the Bennion Center’s Pathways to Community Engagement.
Connect with community partners to plan regular community engagement opportunities off-campus for the HIVE .
Communicate with other Bennion Center Student Coordinators to stay updated on current community engagement events and opportunities available on and off-campus to share with students and resident advisors.
Desk / Kiosk Attendant duties will include:
Serve as ambassadors for the Bennion Center at the Bennion Center
Kiosk at the Gail Miller Community Engagement Tower (located at the Kahlert Village residence hall) and at the Bennion Center office in the student union.
Refer interested students to the appropriate Bennion Center programs and community engagement opportunities both on and off campus.
Maintain inventory of supplies and needs at the kiosk and in the Bennion Center.
Guide and instruct drop-in volunteers on available Service Corner projects.
Attendants will assist Bennion Center staff with other clerical tasks to help meet the

Attend Bennion Center Student Leader Orientation
Keep open and timely communication with the Bennion Center Staff Partner
Meet deadlines given by Bennion Center Staff Partner
Utilize the KRONOS system for payroll
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, or equivalency.
Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are required.
