Horizontal Directional Drill Operator/Locator

Job description:

Secured Network Solutions Inc. is a well established leading voice and data company in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake. SNS is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Horizontal Drill Operator/Locator – Great opportunity for someone who is a self-starter and motivated individual seeking a long-term position with opportunity for advancement. Preferred candidates must have 3-5 years experience of HDD operator/locator.

Responsibilities and Duties:

-Operate Horizontal Directional Drill;

-Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities;

-Ability to Read and Comprehend utility locates;

-Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine;

-Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions;

-Ability to perform proper reaming and pull back methods for existing conditions;

-Oversee laborers and/or crew members work and monitor time usage;

-Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required reports, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment;

-Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, crew time logs etc.);

-Follows specifications for the job and company policies;

-Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site;

-Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.

Requirements:

-Driver's License (Class A CDL REQUIRED);

-Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR);

-HDD Operator Position, 3-5 years (required);

-Clear background check for base access (required);

-Pass pre-employment drug screening (required);

-Must have good work ethic;

-Must be dependable.
