Fabrication Technician
Mechanical Fabrication Technician is needed in the Cidco, Florida area. This is a local position paying up to $37/hour.
Candidate will join a team responsible for initial fabrication operations for structural applications such as waterjet, plasma cutting, shape cutting, sawing, wheel abrading, drilling, tapping and others as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Measure, layout, and cut raw structural shapes to specification using a variety of fabrication machinery
Interpret work scope and plan best execution ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency
Learn to setup, operate, and maintain all shop machinery through combination of OJT and online learning
Read, understand and interpret, then execute work instructions and engineering blueprints presented through verbal, written, or electronic means
Learn and operate various computer programs and manufacturing software packages through both OJT and online courses.
Follow process parameters and report up errors and improvements
Perform work to the safety standards set forth by leadership
Maintain machinery to manufacturer’s standards
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Self-motivated and able to complete projects accurately within tight deadlines
Complete communication loops regarding all job responsibilities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of professional experience with fabrication machinery
2+ years of experience with CNC plasma or Waterjet operation
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: FLOW or OMAX waterjet software suite, Hypertherm, Rotary Tube, ProNest, Mastercam or another CAD/CAM software
Experience with 5-axis waterjet
Experience with 5-axis plasma
5+ years of experience in related fabrication field
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg
Ability to pass background check for Kennedy Space Center
